I am a fully qualified counsellor with eleven years experience in working with individuals and couples, both in a private and community setting.

My knowledge and practice are regularly updated by continuing professional development.

Personal Approach

Central to my approach is the importance of a respectful, empathic and genuine relationship with people. This relationship gives the opportunity for exploring difficult issues, thoughts and feelings. Experience has shown that this creates the possibility for a person to come to terms with the issues they are facing and move forward in meaningful and positive ways.

I use an integrative counselling model which combines several counselling approaches in order to tailor the counselling to each person or couple's needs. I offer time limited and open ended counselling.

It is important to me that the counselling process attains a high level of care and, as a consequence, I abide by the ethical framework of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy of which I am a member. I also have full professional indemnity insurance and am committed to ongoing development.

Areas of Interest

I am especially interested in spiritual issues, how we attach meaning to our life and how our belief/faith impacts the issues we are facing.

It has also been particularly rewarding to work with couples who are experiencing difficulties in their relationship. Couples counselling can provide a secure and structured way to look at recurring and often painful ways of relating and thereby open up the way to find healthier ways of communicating and being together.
